Sleepio expands digital medicine across NHS as Government announces fresh tech drive in healthcare
Matt Hancock this week expanded on his vision to move the NHS into the digital era with the announcement of a second wave of ‘Test Beds’ designed to identify innovative technologies and treatments.
This second phase of the Test Bed programme – which includes our client, Sleepio – sees £7m in funding going towards programmes that bring NHS organisations and industry partners together to test redesigned health services using digital technology across the NHS in England. Sleepio is working with Barking and Dagenham Borough Council and North East London NHS Foundation Trust’s Care City as part of this new tranche.
Care City brings together market-ready diagnostics, smartphone applications and management tools to support patients with long-term conditions, including insomnia and diabetes. In this Test Bed, Sleepio joins TickerFit, DrDoctor, Whzan Digital Health, Healthy.io, Echo, Our Mobile Health and LIVA Life in creating an ecosystem in East London designed to harness technologies that have the potential to transform and improve patient outcomes.
Sleepio is increasingly at the forefront of innovation as the new Health Secretary bids to ensure the NHS embraces digital advances to improve care. The Care City partnership follows news of Sleepio’s NHS rollout in parts of the South East as they step-up their drive to deliver better sleep and better health for all.
